A letter of appreciation from Mrs. Chief

From: Darlene Gill
To: Harry Bowen
Subject: THE EXCOM DINNER

Harry:

This is for everyone in the chapter, actually.  I want to thank everyone for that wonderful dinner, and the gifts I was presented with.  It was such a great tribute, I was truly moved and overwhelmed.

Dan took a picture of the “diamond”, with his digital camera, and he put it on the computer for me, as my “wallpaper”.  Now, every time I turn it on, I see my “diamond”. When he took the picture, the sun was behind it coming through the living room window, in the late afternoon, and it looks red and gold in the picture. It is so beautiful.  Thank you so much.

The frame for the flag is now on Joe’s Father’s flag.  His Dad passed away 8 years after Joe and I were married, and Joe was presented with his flag at his military funeral.  His Dad was in World War 1.  Now, his flag also, has a home.  I had already had a frame for Joe’s flag made a couple days after his funeral. It was hand made of pine, and sits on a memoral at home, in the entry way, as you enter the front door.

Once again, I appreciate the tribute and gifts, and, want to say, it has been a privilege and an honor to be a part of the Arizona Silver Chapter of the Warrant Officer’s Association.  You have no idea how much the Association has meant to me.

I would appreciate if you would see that everyone gets a copy of this e-mail.

Gratefully,
Darlene (Mrs. Chief)
